Tidal salt marshes, brackish impoundments.

Status and Distribution
Common and localized resident on the New Jersey coast and southern Delaware coast.

Range
Atlantic and Gulf coast from New York to Texas

Best locations
Brigantine; Stone Harbor; Manasquan…anywhere along the NJ coast. Cape Henlopen in DE

Best time to see them
Year round

History / Records
4 records from south eastern PA all since 1957. Prior to 1950’s there were only 4 records in NJ. 1st breed in DE in 1933
