Double-crested Cormorant
Phalacrocorax auritus

From DVOC's Delaware Valley Birds "Ocean and large bodies of water. Migrates in huge flocks in April and October.."
Habitat:
Rivers, lakes, estuaries, impoundments and coastal areas, where in it is often seen perched over water on snags, trees and buoys or roosting on exposed sandbars and mudflats.

Status and Distribution:
Year round resident, with smaller numbers in winter.

Range:
Breeds in Eastern North America and winters south to Central America. Only reported breeding from a few places in each state in the Delaware Valley.

History/State Records:
Migrates in huge flocks along the coast in October and April.
