Status and Distribution
Accidental and extremely rare. Pale Common Redpolls can look very similar and careful observation and documentation is necessary to separate these species.

Range
Breeds across Northern Canada and in Alaska. Irregular in winter to Southern Canada and in eastern US from Illinois to Maryland.

History / Records
In PA 3 or 4 accepted records occurred in 1994 with 3 records from Lancaster, Berks and Montgomery Counties. Of 21 reports only 3 accepted records in NJ, 1 of which was in 1994, all in the upper reaches of the Delaware Valley. There has only been 1 report in DE, that in 1994.
