"My interest in birding dates back to my youth, when my father, a birder, imparted his knowledge and enthusiam on our annual camping trips around the country. This interest was rekindled about 8 years ago with the purchase of quality optics and participation in local field trips with the NJAS and WCAS. My retirement from architectural practice in 2008, (and my wife's retirement at about the same time), gave us the time to pursue birding more fervently, and allowed me to begin honing my skills in avian photography. We bird locally at the Institute Woods, Carnegie Lake and other sites around Princeton, with frequent trips to Sandy Hook, Brigantine, Cape May, and elsewhere. We have birded in varoius places around the US (ME, MAm VA, FL, CA) and have taken birding trips to the Galapagos Islands and Costa Rica."
