DVOC Field Trip Report
May 3, 2009 (Sunday)
Fort Washington State Park
Leader: Bill and Naomi Murphy
Despite yet another rainy May morning, both the birds and the birders showed up bright and early. A total of nine really fun participants and fifteen species of warblers put in an appearance. There was lots of song as you would expect at this time of year, along with the usual suspects such as Baltimore Orioles, Swainson's Thrush, Great-crested Flycatcher, etc.
We walked the Ridge Road and then down along Park which gave
us an opportunity to check for the Eastern Screech Owl. No luck with that but
our main avian highlight was a Cerulean Warbler.
