Wallkill NWR
Basset Bridge – Barred Owl
Liberty Loop Trail (Oil City Road) –
Way back – last impoundment – Moorhen, Barred Owl, Screech (only for about 30 seconds) –
Around the midpoint – farmhouse “field” – Woodcock – Can still hear both owls from here
Quarry Road – near barn by back end of Black Dirt Marsh
– Grasshopper Sparrows in fields
Wood ducks in marsh
5/3 From Brian Clough - Scarlet Knight-herons
Black Spruce Bog...not much. Northern Waterthrush, no Purple Finches.
Sawmill Rd...1.0 mi after intersection with Park Ridge: Cerulean Warbler, BH Vireo
Cat Swamp: Nashville Warbler, Pileated, Sapsucker, Downy, Pine Siskins, Least Flycatcher, Pine Warbler, Creeper
Sawmill rd, 0.7 mi past lower Park Ridge intersection: Cerulean Warbler
Crigger Rd: 0.2 mi from intersection with deckertown turnpike: Worm-eating Warbler, YT Vireo
singing Yellow-rumped Warbler across from number 10 Hiram's Grove road..seemed territorial
Blewett- YT Warbler again, RB Nuts, White-throated Sparrows, Ruby-crowned Kinglets (still quite a few)
4/19 - Cliff Swallows on nest at the DOT barn - Brian Clough - Scarlet Knight-herons
4/19 - Thunder Mountain Road- Wood Ducks (upper and lower ponds), Green-winged Teal (upper pond). No Pied-billed Grebes, and the water level in the lower pond where they were last year is significantly higher. - Brian Clough - Scarlet Knight-herons
4/19 - Tilman's Ravine, dirt road on the right just past upper parking lot (when coming from Walpack Center)- Red-breasted Nuthatch (2), Blue-headed Vireo, Brown Creeper. - Brian Clough - Scarlet Knight-herons
4/19 - Lake Ocquitunk Campground; road up towards SOC 200 ft past stone bridge: Brown Creeper, Hermit Thrush - Brian Clough - Scarlet Knight-herons
