Call for Nominations
All club members are encouraged to submit nominations for
the 2007 Julian K. Potter, the 2007 Witmer Stone Award and the Conservation
Award. The interpretation of eligibility for these awards is fairly broad. Hence,
PLEASE submit any and all ideas, even if you're not quite certain that a person's
work neatly falls into one the below definitions.
Nominations should be submitted to the respective committee chairpersons.
There is no rule that says that someone can not earn an award on more then one
occasion (and some have), it would be nice to consider someone who is not a
past winner.
Awarded at the annual banquet to one or more DVOC members who have made an outstanding contribution to field ornithology. This award was established in 1964 and first presented in 1965.

Awarded at the annual banquet to one or more DVOC members for the best publication which embodies the results of ornithological research not undertaken in the course of professional duties. This award was established in 1943.
Colin Campbell - Selection Committee Chairperson.

Awarded at the annual banquet to one or more non-members, not necessarily a part of the birding community, in recognition of work done that has contributed to the overall welfare of the birding community.
