DVOC 2001 CONSERVATION GRANT

Habitat restoration at Schuykill
Center for Environmental Education.
The Center has embarked upon to bring back nesting Kentucky
warblers. This involves fencing a three-acre area (at $2000 per acre) to keep
out the deer and replacement of invasives with indigenous plants including those
species present when the Kentucky warblers nested there. About $7000 has been
raised from outside sources and volunteer labor is being used to get rid of
unwanted plants. Additional money is needed for replacement plant material.
